High Quality Neighbourhoods in Ottawa
This is a little bit more subjective, however there are some great tools in WalkScore.com, CrimeReports.com and Ottawa’s Neighbourhood Study that can give you great information, for example if wee look at the Civic Hospital and Central Park area of the City around the experimental farm in the Kitchissippi Ward has a walk score of 62, considered somewhat walkabel it has cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, parks, Montessori Preschool, daycares, shopping and pharmacies all withing 1k.
Glabar Park in Bay Ward between Woodroffe and Maitland, Carling and the Queensway in Ottawa west rates a 77 on it’s walk score with most errands being able to be accomplished on foot. From coffee & bagel shops, Fairlawn Plaza and Carlingwood Shopping Centre, to multiple banks, grocerie stores & pharmacies and 3 bright parks you can leave your car at home and enjoy the day.

Great Schools in Ottawa
Every year the Frasier Institute grades and reports on elementary and Secondary schools throughout the region. As of 2013 it rated Elmdale, Mutchmor, Hopewell Avenue, Devonshire and Broadview as the top 5 (public) elementary schools in Ottawa, located in the Hampton Park, Glebe, Ottawa South, Hintonburg and, Hampton Park areas of Ottawa respectively.

Green Space has always been a staple in Ottawa, with a greenbelt as part of our master plan with two rivers and the canal and the many creeks and tributaries that feed it and development and urban expansion plans that require community builders to have dedicated parks and green space Ottawa has plenty of homes that back on parks, NCC land, and ravines. 627 are currently for sale as of the writing of this article
