Ottawa is the place to be for Canada’s 150 Anniversary Celebration!
July 1st 2017 will host a massive celebration in Downtown Ottawa, everywhere from Parliament Hill to Jacques Cartier Park, Lebreton Flats and Majors Hill Park. However if you’re looking from something a little more low key there are dozens of celebrations happening in communities all around the National Capitol Region.
In the East
The Kiwanis Club of Orleans will be hosting Canada D’eh! Fest on Petrie Island. Including numerous live bands, and all day kids zone, the Biggest and Best Fireworks Orleans has ever seen and more.
Pineview Community Association will be holding an All Ages Canada Day Celebration from 10-4. Showcasing local and Canadian history, this block party will feature: a new central stage, indigenous performances, live music, birthday cake, family story time, bouncy castles, face painting, human board games, crafts, interactive native plants display, sport demonstrations, 12 stations to learn about the community history as well as the greatest tug of war contest in Pineview history.
In the South
Riverside South Community Association Canada Day Celebration
The community’s premier summer event is hosted by the Riverside South Community Association, marking the 15th year the association has hosted the annual celebration. Not only do we have a fantastic line up of activities during the day, but we also have an amazing evening program including professional fireworks!
Canada Day in Barrhaven
June 30 – July 1
The event features: Homeniuk Midway, carnival rides and games, food vendors, family activities, multicultural shows, fireworks, parade of flags and much more. New for 2017: 2 days of main stage entertainment with Canadian bands.
In the West
The Glenview Homes Canada Day in Kanata Celebration is one of the largest community events in Ottawa region. In conjunction with Ottawa 2017 and Canada 150 Canada Day in Kanata will have 2 full days of programming for all ages. Come join us at Walter Baker Park off Terry Fox Drive in Kanata to celebrate this significant community event. The best part, admission is free!
Canada Day 150 in Stittsville
Activities scheduled are: a ceremony featuring the Royal Canadian Legion Colour Party, a Canada 150th birthday cake, family games, inflatable bouncers, face painting, horse-drawn wagon rides, petting zoo, magic show, sport demonstrations, decorated bike parade, fireworks, food vendors, sponsor showcases, live stage entertainment, food and agriculture demonstrations, and a special interactive activity looking back at Stittsville’s history and progress.
