Last Month: Jan 2019  During the month of January 2019, members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 820 residential properties,  compared to 708 in Jan 2018,  an increase of 15.8% in the number of properties sold vs the previous year.

It took an average of 72 days for properties of all types to sell in January 2019 which is 11 days shorter than the average in Jan 2018 and 3 day longer than the month before, December 2018.   Of these 820 sales, 611 were freehold houses, and 209 were condominiums. The average sales price for a freehold house sold in January 2019, was $432,829 showing an increase of 1.5% over Jan 2018.  While condominium average prices rose 7.7% from last year to $283,990.  

1,373 new properties were listed for sale in January 2019, bringing the total number of properties for sale to 2,870 a decrease of 23.1% from Jan of last year.
