Review of February 2020 in Ottawa Real Estate 

During the month of February 2020, members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 1,141 residential properties,  compared to 1,002 in Feb 2019, an increase of 13.9%  in the number of properties sold vs the previous year.

It took an average of 37 days for properties of all types to sell in February 2020 which is 26 days shorter than the average in Feb 2019 and 13 days shorter than the month before, Jan 2020.  

Of these 1,141 sales, 835 were freehold houses, and 306 were condominiums.

The average sales price for a freehold house sold in February 2020, was $563,694 showing an increase of 21.1% over Feb 2019.  While condominium average prices rose 21.3% from last year to $349,813. 

1,471 new properties were listed for sale in February 2020, bringing the total number of residential properties for sale to 1,811 a decrease of 42.3% from Jan of last year.
