Review of March 2020 in Ottawa Real Estate  During the month of March 2020, members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 1,525 residential properties,  compared to 1,507 in Mar 2019, an increase of 1.2%  in the number of properties sold vs the previous year.

It took an average of 23 days for properties of all types to sell in March 2020 which is 24 days shorter than the average in Mar 2019 and 4 days shorter than the month before, Feb 2020.   

Of these 1,525 sales, 1,170 were freehold houses, and 355 were condominiums. 

The average sales price for a freehold house sold in March 2020, was $559,739 showing an increase of 16.5% over Mar 2019.  While condominium average prices rose 27.3% from last year to $369,311.  

2,048 new properties were listed for sale in March 2020, bringing the total number of residential properties for sale to 1,971 a decrease of 42.5% from Jan of last year.
