Ottawa’s Real Estate Marketplace | July 2020 Edition

 Last month, June 2020,  members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 2,052 residential properties,  compared to 2,096 in June 2019, a decrease of 2.1%  in the number of properties sold vs the previous year.

It took an average of 30 days for properties of all types to sell in June 2020 which is 7 days longer than the average in June 2019 and 7 days longer than the month before, May 2020.   Of these 2,052 sales, 1,622 were freehold houses, and 430 were condominiums. The average sales price for a freehold house sold in June 2020, was $575,623 showing an increase of 14.8% over June 2019.  While condominium average prices rose 17.1% from last year to $360,992.  

2,371 new properties were listed for sale in June 2020 which is a 7.3% decrease compared to June 2019, bringing the total number of residential properties for sale to 1,902 a decrease of 49.9% from June of last year.
