
Last month in June 2021 members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 2,131 residential properties an increase of 4.6% compared to 2,038 in June 2020.
We had 3,151 new properties listed for sale in June which is a 32.8% increase compared to June 2020, leaving the total number of residential properties for sale at 2,108 an increase of 10.3% from June of last year and an increase of 250 properties for sale compared to last month.
We currently have 1 Month Of Inventory on the market and a new listing sales rate of 67.6%, still a strong seller’s market in Ottawa.
It took an average of 14 days for properties of all types to sell in May which is 16 days shorter than the average in June 2020 and 2 days longer than May.
Of these 2,131 sales, 1,647 were freehold houses, and 484 were condominiums.
The average sales price for a freehold house sold in June 2021, was $725,970 showing an increase of 26.3% over June 2020. While condominium average prices rose 20.5% from last year to $435,198.
