Ottawa Real Estate Update | March 2022 Edition

Last month in February 2022 members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 1,421 residential properties an increase of 2.6% compared to February 2021.

We had 1,762 new properties listed for sale in February which is an increase of 11.8% compared to February 2021, leaving the total number of residential properties for sale at 996 an increase of 1.2% from the end of February 2021.

We currently have 0.7 Month Of Inventory on the market and a new listing sales rate of 80.6%, a strong seller’s market in Ottawa.

February 2022, was $837,517 showing an increase of 16.8% over February 2021.  While condominium average prices rose 14.5% from last year to $466,682. 

It took an average of 19 days for properties of all types to sell in February, which is 3 days shorter than February 2021 and 11 days shorter than January 2022.

Of these 1,421 sales, 1095 were freehold houses, and 326 were condominiums. The average sales price for a freehold house sold in
